Honoring Women Entrepreneurs!

This Women’s History Month, I am focusing on women in business, women entrepreneurs, and women business owners, by hosting an event on March 23rd, 2025, at B’Gorgeous Salon in San Leandro.
Why This Event?
This is a bit of a throwback to events I used to co-chair at the Oakland Chamber of Commerce once a month. I served as the lead ambassador, as well as a women’s Business co-chair.
We invited community leaders to sponsor and speak at these events. The forums provided opportunities for women business owners to come together and learn. There’s a vast void and I’d like to take this opportunity to fill the space. I thought, I used to do this for the Chamber, it’s time I do it for myself and others!
As a woman business owner… I’ve learned so much from other women in business… I’m still a work in progress! Yet what I’ve learned in my 15 years of being in business and 20 years in the financial industry… I have something to offer/share with them. But moreover, I want women to have space to connect, learn, and network with other women business owners.
What You’ll Gain
Financial knowledge that will grow and protect your business!
As an entrepreneur or businesswoman, understanding financial literacy is key to building a sustainable and profitable business. This event will equip you with practical financial strategies to help you manage cash flow, grow your wealth, and protect your business from financial risks. I will provide information on the following areas.
- Retirement & Insurance for Entrepreneurs
- Best retirement plans for business owners
- Business insurance essentials (liability, disability, key person insurance)
Why Should You Attend?
According to the US Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy, women own more than 12 million businesses and use over 10.7 million workers Yet, they are hugely underserved.
We have sororities and college alumni associations as well as other groups, but, women in business need support that’s specific to financial education, places where they can learn and grow, as a business owner, there are always things you need to learn.
There are always going to be things you need to do. There are always going to be people you need to know. It’s very humbling, as soon as you feel like you’ve got it, you realize, “I don’t have it… I need help!”
There’s always things changing, there’s always something new to learn. I’ve recently been learning how to use QR codes to promote my content! There are new social media tools… TikTok, Threads and BlueSky to name a few…for avenues of connection and growth.
There are many new ways to fail! I LOVE the book Failing Forward by John Maxwell. I studied that book from 2015 to 2017, because I didn’t quite understand the idea of failing forward! What does failing forward mean? As adults, failing is bad, but it’s actually the opposite – if we’re failing… we’re learning. While we’re learning, we’re reaching new levels of understanding.
The purpose of his event is to provide financial information, resources and community. That’s the ultimate goal! I sincerely hope you join us!
